Creating a Culture of Inclusion for All
Needham Diversity Initiative, Inc. (NDI), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation. We encourage, foster, strengthen, and celebrate Needham’s diversity. Our mission is to lead the town of Needham to become more welcoming to all residents and community members regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender (including identity and expression), ethnic identity, socioeconomic status, ability, and age.
What we believe at NDI
NDI believes that we can make the world better through personal commitment to change and ongoing service to our community. It is our collective and individual responsibility to right acts of injustice and to work toward the elimination of all forms of prejudice and marginalization. We acknowledge the long history of socio-political forces that have created systemic racism and sustain current inequities.
We believe that the path to a more peaceful, just, and equitable society can be created by fostering genuine relationships and amity among individuals, communities, and institutions.
Engage
NDI engages at the grassroots level with individuals, groups and communities of all identities in constructive discourse to make Needham more understanding and welcoming of diversity.
Join us for Needham Connects book discussions at the Needham Public Library.
Empower
Through collective action NDI empowers the participants in our programs to recognize that each and everyone can be an agent for positive change.
